Florida Citrus Parade in Orlando

The Florida Citrus Parade is a great place to get juiced up and excited for two college bowl games.

The parade takes place just before New Year’s Day at 10:00 am.

The Florida Citrus Parade is a long-time tradition among Central Florida residents.

Celebrating the Holidays & Football

Right in the middle of the end of year holidays is this orange studded parade. 

It is also the same time as the annual Orlando Bowl Week, where the Russell Athletic Bowl and the Capital One Bowl take place.

The parade is filled with citrus-adorned floats, tying in the state’s internationally recognized fruit. 

Oranges, grapefruits and tangerines are in abundance throughout this 1.4-mile long parade.

The parade can be seen across the country and is also shown internationally.

If you have family or friends that will be deployed during the parade you can tell them to tune into AMERICA ONE –the military syndicated channel.

Parade spectators can number over 50,000 along the parade route.

Parade participants consist of both high school and Bowl-attending university marching bands from the Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference.

There are also contingents from area theme parks including Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.

Over 3,000 marchers take to the streets to get the crowds excited for the parade and football games.

Seating Options

Curbside seating is free and available the day of the parade.

You are able to begin seating at 6am.

There is also grandstand seating available for a fee. 

Grandstand tickets usually sell out so if you have an interest in the, it is suggested that you purchase your tickets as soon as possible. 

This area, which appears during the syndicated parade broadcast, is located at Lake Eola Park on Rosalind Avenue.

The grandstands open at 8:30 a.m.

The Florida Citrus Parade is a great time to get out and enjoy a different bit of Florida. 

Take in the bands, performers and floats along the route before spending the afternoon exploring Central Florida.
