Kissimmee’s Birthday Celebration

Your birthday only comes one time a year and in Kissimmee they want everyone to celebrate theirs with them.

The Kowtown Festival doubles as a birthday celebration for the city of Kissimmee.

The full day event happens on the last Saturday of March and it is free for everyone.

Daylong Celebration

When it comes time to celebrate everyone wants to have friends come out and have a great time.

This is the case with Kissimmee and Kowtown Festival is just the place to ring in another year for the city.

The daylong celebration runs from approximately 11am to 5pm.

The festivities include live entertainment, a hot dog eating contest, a BBQ contest, Kids Zone, craft & food vendors and much more.

Cold beer, Yuengling, is on tap and there is a VIP tent available to relax in.

Man Vs. Food Challenge

If you are up for a food challenge you may want to enter the hot dog eating competition.

There is no charge for the contest, just make sure you stop by Willy’s Wieners at 108 East Dakin Avenue at noon to sign-up for the competition.

At 1pm it is time to start scarfing down as many hot dogs as possible.

The Kissimmee Valley Rib Rodeo is a Florida BBQ Association sanctioned competition.

Almost 50 Pit master teams from across the state converge here for a chance to win a chunk of $10,000 in cash prizes.

The pre-selected judges chow down and critic the ribs that have been grilled in hopes of coming out victorious.

Winning big here qualifies you for the Jack Daniels Invitational, American Royal and Sonny’s Smokin’ Showdown Invitational.

Information on becoming a judge is made available in the months leading up to the festival.

Each judge must meet the standards set by the Florida BBQ Association.

Come down and sing Happy Birthday to the city of Kissimmee.

The event is held at Kissimmee Lakefront Park at 201 Lakeview Dr, Kissimmee, FL 34741.
