Annual American Dance Awards

The 2013 American Dance Awards (ADA) will be coming to the Orlando Orange County Convention Center on April 27th and 28th, 2013.

This touring dance competition was first founded in 1979 and is aimed at providing the young dancers of America and Canada with opportunities in the form of prizes, awards, advice and scholarships.

33 years after the organization was first founded, the event is bigger than ever and will be stopping at 24 cities throughout the United States alone.

Many ADA winners have gone on to have successful careers in professional dancing.

The competition accepts performances from dance studios and companies in several age ranges from elementary age to teen.

There is also a solo competition, where individual dancers can compete to win the prestigious title of “America’s Dancer of the Year”.

Solo dancers can enter the competition free of charge.

Each competition category is evaluated by three judges, with an additional judge who looks solely for special qualities in the dancers.

Regional winners will be determined in Orlando and trophies and medals will be handed out on the 28th.

The winners from this event will move on to the national competition and have the opportunity to receive national recognition for their efforts.

The American Dance Awards is open to the public and can accommodate up to 600 attendees.

The competition is all about providing aspiring dancers with positive influences and aims at fostering a spirit of camaraderie and improvement.
