Cultural Folk Art and Traditional Craft Fair Festival

Saturday, April 20th, 2013 is a day to mark on your calendar.

The Hannibal Square Heritage Center is proudly presenting its 4th annual Cultural Folk Art and Traditional Craft Fair Festival.

As always, this promises to be a fun day, with incredible representations of bygone day’s folk art.

This year, the Festival will feature local Floridian artists specializing in traditional craft and folk art.

The numerous booths will have some works and mementos for sale, a lovely way to brighten a corner of a room or the ultimate thank you gift for a friend.

Florida Highway Painters & Workshops

Both the original Florida Highway painters and the Crealde ceramic masters will be on hand.

These popular artists continue to inspire and keep traditions alive.

For the youngsters 5 years and older, a hands-on “Kid Folk” workshop will be presented by Lilly Carrasquillo, Crealde master, and David Peneflor, a reputed Mexican Folk artist.

This workshop, titled, “The Aztec Encounter and Musical Parade” will entertain and inspire your children.

As always, there will be live folk music, soul food, and treasures to be found.

The Festival will run from 10 am until 4 pm.

Hannibal Square Heritage Center is one of Central Florida’s newest museums.

African American Folklore

Established in 2007, the Heritage Center keeps alive the rich history of Winter Park’s African American community.

A pioneer in African American educational programs, southern folklore and black heritage, the Center has a permanent, award winning collection of framed photographs well worth seeing again and again: Heritage Collection: Photographs and Oral Histories of West Winter Park.

This Heritage Center deserves the accolades awarded it since its recent opening.

It is a place for all cultures to come and admire.
