3 Ways to Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day in Orlando

Millions of people come to Central Florida for a number of reasons.

If you are in Orlando between March 13th and 17th 2015 we have another reason for you to celebrate, St. Patty’s Day!

The Irish holiday has been celebrated in the United States for over 200 years.

Downtown Disney

Head to Downtown Disney!

Raglan Road can be considered one of the most authentic Irish Pub’s in the area.

They plan to ‘Go Green’ with five days of celebration.

From a four-course luncheon hosted by Irish celebrity chef Kevin Dundon.

There will be performances by Scythian$3 Band, Reel Ó Gránde, Drops of GreenThe Brayzen HeadsThe West Coast Trio along with their award winning Irish Dancers.

The party goes from 4pm on March 13th and draws to a close at 1:30am on March18th.

Pleasure Island Area

There will also be celebrations going on in the surrounding Pleasure Island area including; face painting, stilt walkers, competitions, giveaways and plenty of St. Patrick’s Day memorabilia.

Be sure to grab an order of battered sausage or deep-fried candy bars at Cooke’s of Dublin while you are there.

Lizzy McCormack's is bringing their traditional Irish celebration back to downtown Orlando, as they do every St. Patrick's Day. On March 17th the doors will open at 11am and the party will continue until 2am on the 18th. A large beer garden out back will contain multiple bars, a stage for live music, and lots of giveaways. Guinness, Irish whiskey, and of course, their World Famous Pudding Shots will be served.

For more of a local feel you may want to check out Kitty O’Sheas, located in Lake Buena Vista.

The atmosphere is laid back and the patrons are a mixture of locals and tourists.

You can be sure to find Irish staples: Sheperd’s Pie, Bangers & Mash and of course there are cold pints of Guinness.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

We know you will enjoy your time in Central Florida especially when you get the chance to become Irish for the day.

If you are here a little early, you are in for a treat; Winter Park’s 36th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is taking place on Sunday, March 8th this year.

This is the only St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Central Florida.

No matter where the holiday takes you, just be sure to wear your lucky green shirt!
