How to Get Last Minute Disney Dining Reservations

When making Disney Dining Reservations, Disney always recommends booking you tables well in advance – sometimes months and months in advance!

However, not everyone has the luxury to book Disney Dining Reservations 6 months in advance.

After all, plans change, vacation days get shuffled, flights get delayed, etc.

So, what can you do to try to snag a last minute table at your desired Disney dining location?

Be Flexible

If you’re flexible with your dining dates and times, you have a much better chance of getting a table.

Try to avoid the lunch rush (12:00 PM – 2:00 pm) and dinner rush (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm) if possible.

Play With Disney’s Online Reservation System

Disney Dining

Disney’s online reservations are notoriously picky.

Searching for a table for a party of 2 may not turn up any results, but searching instead for a table for 3 or 4 might get you a reservation time.

Remember, restaurants will not deny a party of 2 a table for 4 if it’s available.

Call 1 or 2 days in Advance

If you’re trying to snag a table at a popular restaurant on short notice, go ahead and call the restaurant 1 or 2 days in advance.

You have a better chance 24 hours ahead of time than a week ahead of time because most guests cancel reservations 1 to 2 days in advance to avoid paying cancellation penalties.

If you’re lucky, you may be able to fill the gap left behind by a cancellation.

Be Persistent, but Polite

Don’t be afraid to ask the restaurant to check availability more than once.

Obviously, you don’t want to call every single hour (and remember to please always be polite), but feel free to try again a few hours later.

Again, another guest may have cancelled.

Try a Walk up

Even Disney’s most popular restaurants sometimes save tables for walk-ins, especially during less-crowded times of the year.

If you’re feeling hungry and see that there aren’t many guests waiting outside the restaurant, walk up to the podium and politely ask if they are currently taking walk-ins.

You may be delightfully surprised and score a table.

If all Else Fails, Don’t Despair

Remember, you’re at Disney World where every restaurant offers something special.

Even if you can’t manage to reserve tables at your first choice restaurants, there are dozens of other wonderful dining options in each park!
