California Area of Miniland at Legoland Florida

Legoland Florida pays homage to the home of its other US Legoland, based in California, with an entire area of Miniland dedicated to the recognizable landmarks of Los Angeles and San Francisco.

You are led toward the California area of Miniland by the iconic Hollywood sign – until you notice that it actually reads LEGOLAND!

Below this high sign, the streets of Los Angeles spread out and it is in this area where Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum is located.

Take a look at all of the figures on the street here – can you find Darth Vader?

Is that a wax statue, or the real thing?

Other California Landmarks

Another recognizable building is Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

This spot is known not only for the bright red accents on the building, but for the constant array of stars – and the paparazzi ready to get their pictures.

This must be a movie premiere day, as there are Lego limousines ready to whisk away whatever star is putting down their handprints!

Also in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Bowl is complete with a Lego symphony, grand bandstand, and audience in miniature – all comprised of 47,000 bricks.

Soaring nearby the red Golden Gate Bridge leads you to San Francisco.

The bridge spans a waterway, and if you follow the Lego boats under the bridge, they will lead you to the Pier 39 area of San Francisco.

The bustling Pier is complete with a working carousel.

Going on from the pier, you are shown one of the biggest Chinese settlements in America, San Francisco’s Chinatown.

This hilly neighborhood lies at the feet of a metropolitan city’s skyscrapers.

Miniland’s depiction of California makes it so appealing, you may want to go and check out Legoland’s sister park in Carlsbad to see how they built Florida in their Miniland!
