Relaxing Things to Do at Walt Disney World

Spending down time at Walt Disney World never has to be boring! In addition to gorgeous pools at every resort and world-class shopping around the property, Walt Disney World features a variety of different activities that are both fun and relaxing.

Here are just a few of Disney guests’ favorite ways to relax between park hopping.

Movie Under the Stars

After a day in the park, enjoy a free Disney movie in an outdoor theater at one of Disney’s world-famous resorts.

Though many resorts offer nightly showing, fan favorites are currently the beach at the Polynesian Resort where you can also enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant for free OR Chip ‘N Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long at Fort Wilderness Campground.

After enjoying some s’mores by a campfire and sharing hugs with Chip and Dale, take in a movie in the fresh evening air. Outdoor movies at Disney resorts are complimentary and held nightly as the weather permits.

For movie schedules, call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529

Fort Wilderness

In addition to nightly movies, Fort Wilderness campground offers many relaxing and complimentary activities, including checkers, nature trails, and a petting zoo with plenty of ponies at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch and Farm.

Resort Tours

Many of Disney’s deluxe resorts, including Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and the Grand Floridian, offer FREE tours of their grounds.

These hotels all feature a gorgeous lobby, great shopping, and other magnificent features, including free zoos, awe-inspiring geysers, fine dining, and scenic strolls.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

After touring the grounds at Animal Kingdom Lodge, spend the evening there listening to African folk tales and roasting marshmallows around a camp fire or participate in a FREE night-vision viewing of the Savannah and try to spot some giraffes and zebras.

Adults may also want to have a drink at the beautiful Victoria Falls Lounge.

Play Miniature Golf

Enjoy a relaxing round of mini golf at Fantasia Gardens near Hollywood Studios.

Visit a Spa

For some true extravagance, visit one of Walt Disney World’s world-class spas where you can enjoy facials, massages, manicures, aromatherapy and other rejuvenating treatments in absolute luxury.

The most highly rated are Senses at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Mandara at the Dolphin, but, if you’re looking for some pampering that won’t completely break the bank, La Vida Health Club at Coronado Springs offer massages and facials for half the cost.
