10 Reasons Why You Should Attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

If you are spending any time at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida during the Halloween season then you definitely want to put Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on your itinerary.

This exciting party has been taking place for 20 years now and the reception continues to be great.

Here are 10 reasons why you should spend an evening with the friendly ghouls.

It’s Disney!

I mean seriously how many times can you say that you’ve spent the evening at Magic Kingdom celebrating Halloween.

This is the perfect place to bring the little ones and have them experience Halloween in a family friendly environment.

Disney does a great job in making the park feel like a Halloween wonderland this time of year.

Tasty Sweets

You will find your standard cupcakes and whoopee pies this time of year, but you should treat yourself to something special.

During the Halloween Party candy counters will be filled with Halloween themed sweets for you to enjoy.

Order a couple extra desserts to enjoy after your trip.

Exclusive Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom Cards

Every year there are themed cards that can be collected.

This year the cards theme is “Minnie Mouse’s Costume Chaos.

They will feature Minnie and all her friends, including Daisy Duck and other characters dressed as witches.

In order to receive these cards you should head over to the Firehouse on Main Street to get a map and start cards to take part in this mission to earn cards and defeat the villains.

Specialty Character Greetings.

Many characters will be available for meet and greetings dressed in their Halloween best.

This time of the year is the only chance you will get to meet Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

If you miss out on this you’ll have to wait until next year to see them again.

Trick-Or-Treating at Magic Kingdom

When you enter the park make sure you have a trick-or-treating bag.

If you forget to bring one you can ask any staff member where you can get your complementary bag near the park entrance.

There are over a dozen trick-or-treating locations throughout the park.

You don’t need to wear a costume, but that’s half the fun!

The “Mickey’s Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade

At this parade you get to see lots of not so scary ghouls and classic characters in full on parade.

Every night there is a parade that gets every guest up and grooving as they make their way through the park with special themed floats.

Look for The Haunted Mansion float and one featuring Jack Sparrow in addition to Mickey & Minnie’s on the parade route.

The parade comes through the park at 8:15pm and 10:30pm.

The Performances are Amazing

The park does a great job at incorporating great shows into the evening.

This year there is a show, “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular,” a show that brings the 90’s Halloween film Hocus Pocus to life.

Join them and watch as they cast a spell on everyone at magic Kingdom.

The “Happy HalloWishes” Fireworks

Magic Kingdom is known for their spectacular fireworks displays and Halloween is no different.

During this time of year the sky will be lit with colors that make you think of this as the perfect ending to a spookish evening at Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella’s Castle will be lit in greens, yellows and oranges that remind you of a haunted castle.

The fireworks show begins at 9:30pm.

Halloween Themed Merchandise

What better way to memorialize your Halloween experience at Magic Kingdom than heading home with Winnie-the-Pooh dressed as a pumpkin?

Special themed merchandise will be available all night long so you don’t have to carry your great finds around with you all night.

Be sure to make a list so you don’t leave the park without your favorite Halloween themed pins and other great finds.

The Amazing Décor

Smiling pumpkins and green and orange lights line the streets of Main Street, USA and throughout the park.

The parks transformation appears seamless and feels like a year-round Halloween haven.

Minnie Mouse shaped pumpkins complete with red leaves serving as her bow make for a gorgeous backdrop for photos.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is sure to be a magical night at magic Kingdom and one that you do not want to miss if you are in town.

The party runs from September 15th through November 1st.

Admission to this event is not included with general park admission tickets.
