Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Disney’s live spin on this classic film series is true to its name.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is nothing short of epically spectacular.

The performance is live, one of a kind, action packed and performed at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Stunt men reenact scenes based on the classic and leave audiences in awe as they jump, punch, shoot and so much more right before your very eyes.

Scenes and stunts have been selected from the original motion pictures directed by George Lucas.

The premise for the show is that audience members are witnessing a live filming so there is a director and cameramen working throughout the performance.

The director is continuously prompting the stuntmen, thanking the audience for their encouragement, and sometimes even asking for their assistance as extras.

The show consists of three of the major action scenes from the movies.

While operating on a slightly smaller caliber, Disney keeps all scenes are as true to their originals as possible.

3 Stunts

The first scene is the famous Mayan temple scenario.

The audience is reacquainted with the film’s protagonist and his valor.

Indiana Jones has to face dangers such as; dangerous spikes, collapsing floors, and archaic booby traps.

Proceeding scenes require the use of pyrotechnics.

The second is the adrenaline pumping street scene from Cairo.

Indy must fight multiple men and escape with Marion.

Park attendees get to watch in awe as men fall from buildings, swing across the set on ropes rigged from rafters, and even shoot one another.

The scene’s epic conclusion takes place when Indy shoots a Jeep crammed full of explosives.

The last is a recreation of the conflict between Indy and the Nazis.

The reenactment requires a slightly smaller model of a German Luftwaffe aircraft, machine gun action, and brilliant pyrotechnics as the plane is finally engulfed in flames.

The show has an educational edge.

In between filming, Indy and Marion explain how they are going to accomplish the next scene.

The Director

The professionals walk the audience through their process by practicing each stunt in slow motion.

After the cast has explained each stunt, the director screams action and actors perform at full speed.

The show lasts for 25 minutes.

In operation since 1989, this is the longest running live show at Hollywood Studios.

It is also amongst the most popular of Disney’s live attractions, so guests who are eager for a seat should check show times before leaving home or at the park entrance.
