Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom

A dazzling display of light and sound, the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disney World is a highlight of any trip to the theme park.

The nighttime parade incorporates light and special effects to bring the magic of Disney to life.

Currently in its 3rd major run, the spectacle has been updated to include the best in modern technology and also features a few new characters and floats.

Parade dates and times can be found at Disney World’s website, at the entrance to the park, or at guest services.

Typically, the parade is held at 9pm and 11pm and is led by Tinkerbell on her own float outfitted with beautiful green leaves and flowers.

The fairy brings the rest of the parade to life using her magic pixie dust.

Parade Floats & Disney Characters

Ahead of Tinkerbell are a team of dancers covered in LEDs who create wonderful effects as they move around.

The next float contains fan favorite characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy.

They welcome you to the parade with friendly waves aboard an illuminated Casey Jr. Circus Engine.

An Alice in Wonderland theme follows and consists of a long line of twirling snails, mushrooms and fireflies.

Alice herself sits atop a mushroom with a smiling Cheshire Cat.

The next float will be recognizable to any Disney fan and is modeled after Cinderella’s pumpkin coach.

Inside you’ll see Cinderella in her famous ball gown.

Unlike in the film, her dress in the parade is covered with numerous blinking lights that give her an extra sparkle.

Standing on top of the coach is her fairy godmother.

Peter Pan & Snow White

Peter Pan along with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves follow Cinderella with their own glittering floats.

The pirate ship featured in Peter Pan is one of the most impressive floats in the parade.

Floating like a real ship through Main Street, it features sails that appear to shimmer as well as illuminated scrollwork on its bow.

Both Peter Pan and Captain Hook can be seen aboard performing their best moves and waving to the crowds.

Pinocchio was added to the parade in 2010 and is represented with two floats.

The famous puppet can be seen on the first float along with Lampwick and the Donkey Boys.

Behind Pinocchio and his gang is Pete’s Dragon, from the 1970s film of the same name.

The dragon has been a mainstay of the parade since 1977 and shimmers brightly with a big green body and red wings.

Next is another longtime parade member known as ‘To Honor America’.

This final float in the parade is not tied to any Disney film, but instead pays homage to America with an American flag and eagle.

The Main Street Electrical Parade is a real treat for the senses and will appeal to anyone of any age.

More than just a parade or light show, the spectacle includes music, dancers, performers and animatronic elements to dazzle the crowd.

In total, the show lasts about 20 minutes and is a colorful display that is unmatched anywhere else in the world.
