The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Ride at Magic Kingdom

Winnie the Pooh is a beloved character from children’s literature and no one captured the essence of the honey-loving bear and his group of friends better than Walt Disney in his film adaptation of original book.

In 1999, the film got its own ride at Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a dark, slow moving ride that introduces you to the Hundred Acre Wood, Pooh, Eeyore, Rabbit and the rest of the gang.

The ride accepts the FASTPASS service, which can save you from having to wait in line.

However, the attraction’s queue area has been recently updated to provide you with a preview of the Hundred Acre Wood using illustrations and scenery directly from the original film.

Once you make it to the front of the line, you’ll board 4-seat cars fashioned after giant pots of ‘Hunny’ that will take you and your family through several memorable scenes from the film.

Winnie the Pooh Friend's

The ride immediately transports you into the world of Winnie the Pooh and you’ll encounter large figures of Kanga and Roo on what looks like a blustery day.

As you take a turn into the darkness, Tigger appears and bounces around the space.

Soon, you see that Tigger has bounced right on top of Pooh at his home and is warning him about the infamous Heffalumps and Woozles.

As you pass Pooh falling asleep with his nightcap on, you begin to enter what appears to be a spooky dream sequence filled with Heffalumps and Woozles.

However, the dream is short lived as you soon return to the Hundred Acre Wood.

The sounds of thunder and raindrops fill the space as the Hundred Acre Wood is inundated by a storm.

Ride

Impressively, the ride simulates rising water through gentle and steady movements of the ‘Hunny’ pot carriages.

The scene, however, is fairly short and with the help of the narrator, you are soon reassured of Pooh’s safety as you see him in the pages of a storybook having a party with all his friends who are basking in sunshine.

As the ride ends, the last illustration is of Winnie the Pooh running off hand in hand with Christopher Robin.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Disney World provides a wonderful interpretation of scenes from the original film and incorporates many of the story’s most beloved characters.

Disney Imagineers

Disney’s imagineers, artists and designers have done a wonderful job of bringing all the characters to life and placing participants inside the Hundred Acre Wood.

A combination of set design, lighting and a soundtrack featuring the familiar voices of Pooh, Tigger and more help you make the leap from Florida to the pages of a storybook.

Just as with the original books and the Disney film, young children are destined to fall in love with this ride and all its creative elements.
