More Interactive Ride Queues at Walt Disney World

Anyone who’s ever enjoyed a Walt Disney World vacation knows that you are going to be spending a large portion of your time in the parks waiting in line.

And with guests spending so much time stuck waiting for their favorite attractions, Walt Disney World has decided to add a little more magic to their queues.

More and more Disney guests have been finding ride queues that are interactive, from the high-tech vehicle design options of Test Track to the group video games of Soarin’, from the touch screens of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh to the ghostly exhibits of the Haunted Mansion.

Latest Designs

Among the latest designs is at Magic Kingdom’s iconic Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, whose queue now wraps around a colorful circus tent, complete with an interactive play place for children.

Parents can play with their children in the interactive room while waiting for a buzzer to go off that indicates it is their time to move on to the outdoor portion of the queue.

A Word From Imagineering

“People come here to have fun, first and foremost, and we want them to have a great experience,” said Kathy Mangum, creative executive of Walt Disney Imagineering. “And if you’ve got the perception of spending less time waiting, ’cause you’re having so much fun, we feel like we’ve done our job.”

Between the new, interactive queues and the new addition of FastPass+ which allows guests to book three FastPasses in advance, Disney guests will be spending less time waiting and more time having fun than ever!
