Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Mouth-watering delicacies, fine wines, and unlimited fun... Yes!

We are talking about the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, celebrating its 21th year, which will be enjoying a record length this year - 62 days long!

That's right; for 2016, the Festival will be running until November 14th; so there's plenty of time to enjoy all the delicious sights, tastes, scents that Epcot has to offer!

Welcome Center

The Welcome Center at the entrance is of great help to the visitors, by providing everyone with maps, brochures and other important information.

You should stop here to find a great deal of useful information such as show times and the time/location for cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and cocktail seminars.

There are more than 1000 such seminars scheduled during the course of the event providing attendees with lots of complimentary samples!

The Welcome Center also provides the menu of each country presenting its own specialty treats at the 29 international marketplaces placed at the World Showcase.

Be sure to pick up a Festival Passport book at either the Welcome Center or one of the marketplaces.

These handy passports provide guests not only with every menu at the festival, but can also be stamped by each marketplace so that you can keep track of which countries you have visited and fallen in love with.

Dishes at the marketplace are usually appetizer-sized portions and fall within a price range of $3 to $10 price range.

For the ease and comfort of the visitors, the organizers have come up with Disney Gift Card wristbands that can be pre-loaded with the amount of money one wishes to spend and can be swiped at various food and wine kiosks.

There are more than 300 different kinds of wines and more than 75 kinds of international food items available at the festival's marketplaces.

The international marketplaces offer plenty of variety and adventure for visitors who are on a mission to tantalize their taste buds along while enjoying a pleasant stroll around the 40-acre festival area.

The festival offers something from all six (6) permanently inhabited continents.

These kiosks will combine cuisines from that will serve you everything from roasted grilled lamb chops, quinoa salad, and arugula chimichurri to the finest libations you can find.

There are live entertainment shows everyday featuring various cultures and traditions.

The festival also attracts many special guests showcasing their talents.

This year's lineup of "Eat to the Beat" performers includes Smash Mouth, Wilson Philips, Boyz II Men, The Commodores, Hanson, Sugar Ray, and many more!

The International Food and Wine Festival can be an amazing day, packed full of fun, great music, and fresh, well-prepared dishes and some of the best wines from around the globe.

The day ends with Epcot's spectacular IllumiNations fireworks and laser light show.

Epcot Food & Wine Festival Review by Ada Ospina

For the past 21 years the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot has been giving park guests a taste of the world without having to leave the confines of the theme park.

If you have considered attending this event you should literally follow your gut instinct and head to this Walt Disney World theme park. With over three-dozen destinations to enjoy there is no end to the number of delicacies available to try.

Stop by Epcot from September 25 through November 14 to visit the festival.

38 Unique Destinations

Whether you are looking for a unique coffee blend or a grilled lamb chop served with mint pesto you will find it at Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival.  Before you embark on this foodie journey around the world in a few miles you want to make sure you have got on your walking shoes.

Even when you want to try just one more destination your feet may be screaming for you to your hotel work a warm soak in the tub.

Once you’ve make it inside the park grab a Food & Wine Festival Passport and browse the pages for destinations that pique your interest. The locations are scattered throughout the park, but with a bit of planning and a park map you should be able to crush any itinerary you have in mind.

Almost every continent is included – as close as you will get to Antarctica is Patagonia- and there are a number of destinations that blend multiple countries into their menu offerings.

Some of the new destinations, such as the Chew Lab and the Wine Studio are offering menu items from various countries.  Explore foods and beverages from the Dominican Republic, South Korea and Ireland while earning passport stamps as you go.

At Epcot there is no need for a Visa to enter any of these countries and try traditional food from around the world.

Other Perks

In addition to the food destinations there are a number of workshops and afternoon/evening live concerts.  Big name entertainers like Smash Mouth, Boyz II Men and Sugar Ray have performed here for years. There are also new additions to the concert series, Chaka Khan and Everclear to name a few.

When you enter the park through the main entrance you will pass a cranberry bog where you can learn all about have cranberries go from farm to your table. There are even Craisin samples handed out around the bog. Ocean Spray is the official sponsor for this attraction.

Another cool perk is the passport itself. It’s full of interesting information as well as a hidden bonus.

If you visit the festival three times you should consider getting the as page of your passport stamped each time at Innoventions. Upon your third visit you are eligible for a commemorative wine glass. The supply is limited so you should try to get your stamps early.

The Food & Wine Festival is more than just a place to explore foods from around the world, it’s a place to learn about all things food related and also have a great time.
