One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish at Islands of Adventure

Theodore Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, and Walt Disney shared a deep love of children.

To make them happy was a lifelong ambition.

Both excelled in that goal.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure has delightful rides for children.

With state-of-the-art technology, interactive attractions and shows, these themed rides bring to life your child’s favorite cartoons, stories, comic book hero’s and magical tales.

Many of these rides are based on Dr. Seuss’s work.;

One of the most popular, at Seuss Landing, is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish was published in 1960 to instant fame.

Wacky Story

This wacky story revolves around two free-spirited children who introduce the reader to their vivid imagination.

In addition to red and blue fish, those characters include Yink, who likes to wink and drip pink ink, Yop, who hops from finger top to finger top, and sad Ned, who does not like his little bed.

And the boxing Gox: “I box in yellow box Gox socks.”

For this ride, tots sit in vibrantly colorful, smiling fish, red, blue, yellow and orange that rest on a moat-like body of water.

“Some are red and some are blue. Some are old and some are new. Some are sad and some are glad. And some are very, very bad.”  It is only the glad fish for this ride.

The Ride

Commanding the ride is a giant whale-like character that sings and shouts instructions.

If you want to stay dry, better follow his lead.

The ride begins and the fish are lifted into the air. “We see them come. We see them go. Some are fast and some are slow. Some are high and some are low.”

A joystick lets the rider swoop up and down, circling ‘round and ’round, passing fountains spraying in time to a Seuss rhyme:

“Oh me! Oh my! Oh me! Oh my! What a lot of funny things go by!  And:

“Did you ever fly a kite in bed? Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head? Did you ever milk this kind of cow? Well, we can do it. We know how. These things are fun and fun is good.”

This ride, lasting about four minutes, is just plain fun for youngsters and adults alike.

This ride reconnects families, letting the silly and fun things takeover.

Grown-ups can be children again and sharing their beloved stories with their children.

For remember: “From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere.”

This is what both Dr. Seuss and Disney would have wanted.

This ride has no height requirement, but children less than 48” tall must be accompanied by an adult.
