Production Central Area of Universal Studios Florida

It’s hard to miss the Production Central area of Universal Studios, as it’s located right at the entrance.

This part of the park is jam packed with rides, shopping opportunities and restaurants, so plan on spending a decent amount of time here.

Rides

The first thing you’ll notice as you enter Production Central is the towering Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit roller coaster.

Not only is this the tallest roller coaster in the state of Florida, but also it’s also the most technically advanced.

You are able to choose your own soundtrack for your experience aboard the ride and can even upload a video of yourself riding the Rip, Ride Rockit to the Internet once you’re done.

Also located in Production Central is the Shrek 4-D ride as well as the 3-D ride Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem.

Restaurants

Once you’ve got your adrenaline pumping, you might be interested in grabbing a bite to eat.

You can pick up a quick meal at the Classic Monsters Cafe, which serves up American favorites like rotisserie chicken, pizza and pasta.

Alternatively, if you’re in the mood for a cool treat, head on over to Bone Chillin’ frozen slushes and other chilly drinks.

Shops

There are also several excellent souvenir shops located in Production Central, including Studio Sweets, Shrek’s Ye Olde Souvenir Shoppe and the Universal Studios Store.

If all that wasn’t enough, Production Central will be debuting an all-new ride this summer entitled Transformers: The Ride.

This highly anticipated new attraction will be a 3-D dark ride featuring enormous 60ft projected images along a 2,000-foot track.
