Beautiful – The Carole King Musical Comes to Orlando

The final stage production to be included in the 2015-2016 season of Broadway in Orlando is bringing Beautiful – The Carole King Musical to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

There will be eight (8) shows from May 3rd through the 8th.

The stage performance, based on the life of Carole King, is making its first national tour and is sure to highlight the beauty of Carle’s life and work.

A Jukebox Musical

Born Carol Klein, she spent her youth in Brooklyn and was a passionate young woman that was thought to be full of chutzpah. Eventually Carol would transform into Carole King, a chart-topping music legend.

In Beautiful: The Carole King Musical you are not only treated to a magnificent score, you get to see the true story of King’s extraordinary rise to stardom.

The musical includes mentions of the hit songwriting team that included her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann and even her transition to one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.

A True Story

The stage production highlights her journey into the music business as a teenager and her early music career.

Once she reached her twenties it appeared that Carole had it all, the man of her dreams and a prosperous career speckled with chart-topping songs that she had written for some of the greatest Rock ’n’ Roll acts of the time.

As is the case with many people that rise to fame at a young age she began to crack under the pressure.

Thankfully she was able to work through her struggles and find her true voice.

Not only is the music beautiful, the story is one that tells of struggle and triumph.

This is the perfect ending to a wonderful season of Broadway performances in Orlando.

If you don’t know Carole King, this is a great way to be introduced to her life and her amazing work.
