If you’re staying in the Orlando area and are looking for a fun night out, you may want to consider a night at the Winter Park Playhouse.
Located just northeast of downtown Orlando, the Winter Park Playhouse is a non-profit musical theater that regularly stages some of the most fun and lively productions in the state.
It’s the only professional musical theater in the area and it stages several productions this year.
Every season, the Playhouse puts on seven Broadway and off-Broadway musical comedies and revues on its main stage.
The entire season's productions can be found on the Playhouse website.
The season runs from late July through mid-June.
Tickets are affordable, with discounts available for matinees, seniors and students, and if you’re in Florida for the season, there are discounts on six-show series.
Some of this season's musicals include, Dames at Sea, I Love My Wife and The Fantasticks.
There are also professional singers who perform each month at the Playhouse's charming lobby bar.
This watering hole is furnished, of course, with a piano, making it a great place to enjoy a few cocktails and experience New York style cabaret.
Each show is approximately one hour long and reservations are recommended, as seating is limited.
The Winter Park Playhouse is the perfect place for a date night, anniversary celebration or a spur of the moment outing.
If you have the time to get to this theater, don't pass it up.
The Winter Park Playhouse is located on North Orange Avenue, just off of I-4.
It’s about a ten minute drive north west of downtown Orlando.
