Daytona 500: The Great American Race

The Daytona 500 is the most talked about racing event in the world.

Run every February, the 500 is the final event of a great eight days of racing at the Daytona International Speedway.

Over 200,000 spectators are on hand for NASCAR’s “Super Bowl” getting a suntan and watching their favorite drivers go 200 MPH with their closest competitors training by inches.

The 2016 race is scheduled for February 21st.

The race is such a big event it normally has a pre-race concert from a mega-star such as Tim McGraw or Kenny Chesney on the track in front of the finish line.
