Tampa Yankees Baseball

The Tampa Yankees are a Class A minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees.

They play their home games at George Steinbrenner Field, which is right next door to Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Steinbrenner Field is the spring training home of the New York Yankees, built in 1996 and it's also the spring training home of the New York Yankees.

It is a replica of the old Yankee Stadium without the upper levels.

Class A Minor League

Even if you are a Class A minor league team, wearing the Yankees pinstripes is special.

The Yankees are the most decorated franchise in baseball, and perhaps in all of sports.

They have the distinction of being one of the few teams in sports that everyone either love or hates, but nobody ignores.

The Yankees are major league baseball history, and at Steinbrenner Field they have a replica of the famous Monument Park with plaques of all the Yanks retired numbers.

They also have a monument that pays tribute to the 9-11 victims that were killed in New York City.

New Yorkers

With the large numbers of New Yorkers that move to the Tampa area, the Tampa Yankees games are as close as going to a New York Yankees game you can get while spending a lot less money.

Many times you can catch a major league Yankees player or two on a rehab assignment.

You can also get the chance to see a future Yankee star before he becomes a household name.

Over the past 20 years fans have been able to see players like Derek Jeter, Mariano River and Luis Sojo - also the teams current manager - on the field in Tampa pinstripes.

A trip to Steinbrenner Field in Tampa is about as close to attending a New York Yankees game as there is and well worth the trip.
