If you love planes, or are simply interested in history, the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum is a great attraction for visitors and tourists.
It is located in Titusville, Florida, near the Kennedy Space Center. Admissions are very reasonable, with concessions for seniors, children and families/groups.
Check the website before you visit.
Air-shows are held regularly, offering a fantastic opportunity to see old planes in action.
The museum itself is home to many vintage aircraft.
A particularly popular plane is the C-47 Skytrain, affectionately named “Tico Belle”.
This plane dates back to WW2, and has been successfully restored to flying status.
It is now possible to take a ride in this plane if you book ahead.
As well as the C-47, the museum has many other aircraft including planes from WW1, WW2, the Vietnam and Korea Wars, and more modern planes.
To bring history to life even further, the museum also holds a collection of memorabilia, including uniforms, weapons, and flight gear.
A Vietnam Display Hangar contains a collection of historical artefacts and is dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives in Vietnam.
The Warbird Museum offers a chance to learn about history in a truly engaging way.
Guides are happy to give tours of the museum, provide information, and answer questions.
Visitors can get up close to aircraft, and even sit inside.
This is great for children, allowing them to discover things in an exciting and ‘hands on’ way.
This heritage site is well worth a visit.
