The Mennello Museum of America Art is located at 900 East Princeton Street, Orlando, Florida.

The museum is situated north of downtown Orlando, on the picturesque lakeshore of Lake Formosa in Loch Haven Park.

Opened in 1996 and housed in the former home of Howard Phillips, the museum is owned and operated by the City of Orlando.

The Mennello Museum of American Art aims to preserve, exhibit and celebrate the permanent collection of rare painting by folk artist Earl Cunningham, (1893 - 1977).



His painting were donated by Michael A. and Marilyn L. Mennello (First Lady of the Arts).

This contribution is the largest collection in existence of Cunningham's artwork.

The museum also seeks to enrich the art and cultural community through special exhibitions, publications and programs to celebrate traditional and contemporary American art.

Beautiful and intimate, the museum showcases changing exhibitions which features American art of each genre and time period.

In the galleries on display, there are masterpieces by American Impressionist movement of the 19th and 20th centuries.

A local and national treasure, the museum thrives to maintain a strong community relationship through festivals and events.

Each year, they host the Annual Orlando Folk Festivals on the second weekend in February.

This three day picnic in the park type event is full of activities for the whole family and enjoyable.

There is Americana music on main stage, dance, storytelling, craft demonstrations, food and art vendors.

The museum presents ongoing events for participates to design and create artwork.

They provide printmaking camps and educational workshops for children and adults.

They also offer a free family day on the second Sunday of each month with an Imprints theme and make-and-take station.

The beautiful Sculpture Garden surrounds the museum.

The garden is a collection made up of unique, contemporary sculptures such as the rustic Sunbather, the primitive Bird and whimsy Neptune designed from discarded pieces.

There is an powerful human sculpture called the Rocket Thrower created with stars on the comet tail to represent each Challenger Space Shuttle Astronaut.

Find the playful looking Red Dog and Big Timber a horse, both were crafted out of scrap metal.

Visit the abstract Star sculpture.

It was created by Albert Paley in 1991 and is dedicated to the First Lady of Arts, The Honorable Marilyn Logsdon Mennello.

As you stroll, walk or bike through the Sculpture Garden beside Lake Formosa, take note of "The Mayor" who resides in Loch Haven Park.

It is one of Central Florida's largest oak trees.
