Staying on Property at Walt Disney World

When staying on property at Walt Disney World, it is important to know the different classes of resort options, so that you can make a decision that suits you and your family best.

Resort rooms vary greatly, both in size and in price, depending on which you choose.

In some cases, you may find that a value resort suits you best, while others may prefer a more luxury stay in a villa or deluxe room.

Whatever you choose, you can be rest assured that your stay will be magical from the moment you enter the property until the moment you leave.

Disney Value Resorts

Resorts vary from value, to moderate, to deluxe and deluxe villas, and have a few differences to keep in mind.

Value resorts, for example, do not have sit down dinners.

Their food courts are quite impressive however, so if you are comfortable staying on site at a property without a sit down restaurant and are looking for a quick bite to eat each day before or after the parks, you may find that the value resort is a great choice for you.

Besides the restaurant, the rooms are typically smaller than the other classes of rooms—comparing more to a typical hotel room while others are more comparable to a suite.

Pools, while large and spacious, are generally not as luxurious as the moderate and deluxe pools.

If you are looking to save money and still have quite an enjoyable time, as these resorts are all up to Disney standards, this may be your best bet.

Value resorts are a great bargain for individuals looking to stay on Disney property and receive many of the same benefits at a fraction of the cost.

Value resorts include Disney’s All Star Resorts:

Disney Moderate Resorts

Moderate Resorts are basically in the middle of value and deluxe resorts.

They are beautiful, and offer amazing pools, friendly staff and service, and breathtaking views.

Rooms at this level are generally larger than that of the value resorts, and have both a sit down restaurant and quick service option on site.

You are treated as family, and are always welcomed with the warmest greetings by staff and cast members.

Pools are generally larger—equipped with water slides, and are more impressive than value resorts’ pools. Moderate resorts are also closer in proximity to the parks.

While they may be regarded as ‘average’ by Disney, they are anything but!

They have a plethora of amenities, food options, and activities for all!

These resorts include:

Disney Deluxe Resorts

Deluxe Resorts are easily and arguably the most impressive of all resort options on Disney property.

If you are looking for royal treatment, the most capacious and spacious of rooms, and quality like no other, the deluxe resorts are for you.

While they come at a higher price tag, these options are for individuals who are looking for the most luxurious stay available—with multiple pools, each prettier than the next, a myriad of dining choices, and multiple routes of transportation to the parks.

Many of these also have on site attractions including live animals walking around at Animal Kingdom (where you can often spot them right outside your balcony!) and the ability to be just steps away from Disney’s Boardwalk, where you can find some of the most delicious treats and eateries, as well as unique stores and breathtaking views.

The rooms at deluxe resorts are generally much larger.

For example, while rooms at Pop Century Resort are around 250 square feet for a standard room, the rooms at a deluxe resort, like Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are over 400 square feet.

Deluxe options include :

Disney Deluxe Resort Villas

There are also options for Deluxe Villas, with the same extravagant features with options for larger suites, as well as two and three bedroom options to accommodate all of the people in your group.

These include Animal Kingdom Villas-Jambo House and Kidani Village, Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Resort, Beach Club Villas, BoardWalk Villas, Old Key West Resort, Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, Villas at Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

Deluxe resorts and deluxe villas are the closest in proximity to the parks, and have a variety of transportation options.

No matter which resort you choose, you are guaranteed to have a magical experience and wonderful treatment.

All exceed Disney’s high standards and include beautiful, comfortable rooms and accommodations to meet your family’s needs.

Try one, or try them all; you will not be disappointed.
