Bird Gardens at Busch Gardens

The Bird Gardens at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida is a must-see part of the park for bird lovers.

Tucked away in a corner of the park, one of its largest features is its impressive Flamingo Lagoon.

Home to more than 250 brightly colored flamingoes, it’s the perfect place to get a family photo.

From the lagoon, you’ll be able to hear the tropical sounds of all the parrots and other birds residing in the area.

The Bird Gardens has two main animal exhibits.

Lory Landing

The first is Lory Landing, which is a free-flight aviary full of colorful lorikeets that you can feed with cups of nectar.

The energetic parrots can roam around their habitat freely and are very comfortable with human presence. Walkabout Way is the second exhibit and is home to kangaroos and wallabies.

You can also feed the animals at Walkabout Way and even pet them if you like.

Outside of the animal exhibits, the Bird Gardens Theater, which hosts the Critters Castaway show.

The impressive half hour show celebrates the special bond between animals and humans.

Critters Castaway

Critters Castaway heavily features cockatoos and macaws that show off their abilities with aerial acrobatics and other show stopping tricks.

Pigs, dogs, cats and a few other animals also make appearances during the show, and if you’re lucky enough you’ll be chosen from the audience to participate in the show.

If you get hungry, the Garden Gate Cafe offers a scenic lakeside pizza and pasta buffet.
