Gwazi Dueling Wooden Roller Coaster

Gwazi is an exhilarating dueling wooden roller coaster at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida.

Named after a mythical creature that is half lion and half tiger, the ride features two sets of tracks - Lion and Tiger, that run in opposite directions.

The two roller coasters feature trains that seats two per row and can accommodate up to 24 passengers per train.

Lion and Tiger Cars

When both the Lion and Tiger runs are in operation, the dueling cars will fly by one another a total of six times to create a unique effect.

Gwazi hold the record for the roller coaster in the most “flybys” and is also the largest and fastest double wooden roller coaster in the southeastern part of the United States.

Like other wooden roller coasters, the Gwazi’s ride is a little rougher as compared to typical steel track roller coasters.

The cars reach a maximum speed of 51 mph as it navigates through a series of banked twists, turns, climbs and drops.

Due to the fact that it is wooden, there are no inversions, loops, or incredibly steep vertical angles on Gwazi.

Both the Lion and Tiger tracks are very similar and feature a maximum drop of 92 feet at a vertical angle of 50° and a G-force of 3.5.

The ride duration is 2:30 and the minimum height requirement is 48”.

Gwazi accepts Quick Queue passes.
